JD- DB Architect  

1. Database Architecture & Design (Primary Requirement)

• Review and guide database design for new projects.
• Ensure proper table structures, relationships, indexing, and database architecture.
• Advise developers on best practices for SQL development.
• Act as the gatekeeper for database quality and performance.

2. SQL Code Review & Optimization

• Review SQL code in pull requests before deployment.
• Identify inefficient queries, poor database design, and performance bottlenecks.
• Recommend optimizations, indexing strategies, and query improvements.
• Ensure database changes do not negatively impact system performance.

3. Database Administration (DBA) & Troubleshooting

• Monitor database health and performance.
• Investigate and resolve issues such as:
• Long-running queries
• Query blocking and locks
• Database slowness
• Performance degradation
• Manage backups and basic database administration activities.

4. Microsoft SQL Server Expertise

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Deep understanding of database performance tuning, indexing, query optimization, and database architecture.

5. Azure & Cloud Experience

• Experience with Azure SQL and Azure cloud environments preferred.
• Ability to support cloud-based database architecture and operations.

6. .NET Stack Familiarity (Preferred, Not Mandatory)

• Understanding of:
• C#
• ASP.NET
• .NET Core
• MVC
• Ability to navigate application code and understand how database interactions are implemented.
• Familiarity with source control systems such as GitHub or Bitbucket.

Experience Required:

• Minimum 10+ years of experience.
• Senior-level Database Architect with hands-on SQL expertise.
• Prior experience reviewing developer code and advising engineering teams.
